Easy DIY summer lemon wreath
If you read my blog you know I love to change my front door decorations (and wreath) with each season. With Easter over, it’s time to embrace summer. What screams summer louder than lemons? In just 3 easy steps you can make an inexpensive lemon wreath for your door too!
Supplies
There are very few supplies needed to make the lemon wreath and all of them can come from your local craft store or even from the dollar store! Start with selecting a centerpiece. I had this metal tray from last year’s summer decorations at Hobby Lobby. You can buy something similar or just use a grape wine wreath ($4 in most places). After that you simply need 1-3 green leafy garlands, some fake lemons, some optional flower sprigs (I cut up an old flowery garland I already had), and of course some floral wire to attach everything. Some people like to add a ribbon bow which looks cute in a black and white gingham.

Fake Lemons
Step 1- wrap the garlands around the centerpiece
Simply start wrapping the garlands around your centerpiece. If you prefer to twist together your garlands before you start wrapping, that works too. I only used two but if you want it to be more full, use an additional garland. Another option is to use the same type of garland versus mixing different leaves like I did.
Step 2- Add floral sprigs for interest
Next add two or more floral sprigs. You can buy these as sprigs or you can cut apart a floral garland like I did. Sky’s the limit with this because you can find almost any flower in a sprig at your local store. If you prefer to add more color, yellow sunflowers would be really fun. Decide where you want them and simply attach them with some floral wire.
Step 3- Add the lemons
You most likely had to buy a whole bag of fake lemons so use as many as you want! I chose to do groups of two and space them out but you can add more if you like. Just wrap the floral wire around the stem of the lemon and attach them where you want them. If you chose to add ribbon attach that as well. It’s easiest to make your bow and then attach the whole thing with floral wire.
You did it!
Without spending a lot of money, you just created a beautiful wreath to last all summer! Below I am adding links to other bloggers and their DIY wreaths for more inspiration.
Finish the look
The lemon wreath can be a statement all on it’s own but I added a few more things to finish off the look. I filled my lantern with lemons and added a little metal bee to greet my visitors!
