Can you believe it’s already March and spring is right around the corner? It’s time to say goodbye to Valentine’s day and change those hearts to four leaf clovers. St Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays, probably because who doesn’t love a leprechaun? Just like we did when we transitioned from Christmas to Valentine’s day, it’s all about focusing our decorating on a couple of key areas.
Transition the focus areas to St Patrick's Day
Just like Valentine’s Day comes and goes, so will St Patrick’s Day. I’m embracing this downsized life so no crazy shopping sprees to pick up all things green! Instead I will stay focused on the same areas as before, bringing in just enough seasonal change to make an impression! Plus, just remember, before you know it, Easter will be here!
the coffee station
Just switching out a coffee mug makes a huge difference. Throw in an expensive wood shamrock and a kitchen towel to complete your look.
I kept the same tray, same vase, and same accent plant. Adding a little wood “lucky” sign and replacing the red flowers with a topiary ball changes the entire look. Don’t forget the candy jar with seasonal candy!
The potted greenery will live through another holiday just by replacing the hearts with wooden St Patrick’s Day ornaments. I received the leprechaun gnome as a gift and he fits perfectly in the centerpiece tray.
Don’t forget the front door wreath. I turned my spring/ summer wreath into a St Patrick’s Day wreath simply by adding a wooden “lucky” shamrock I found in a Michael’s store. Really anything would work in the center of the wreath. Be creative!
Just like that and with very little expense, Valentine’s Day decorations transitioned to St Patrick’s Day. If you want to revisit the Christmas to Valentine’s Day transition, click on the link below:
